Hello Reader! Happy Monday! The butterflies are out in abundance around us! This past weekend I had a chance to see Phil Rosenthal's World Tour. If you don't know Phil Rosenthal, he was the Executive Producer for "Everyone Loves Raymond" and now has a Netflix show called "Somebody Feed Phil". He has a sharp wit and what you see on the show is what you get in real life. While the whole night was spent laughing at him, and with him, my favorite line from the evening and one that resonated was:...

Hi Reader! I hope this past week was full of fun for you and your family. This week's email includes new recipes and more updates about what is happening on the website, which benefits you! Everything is in bloom and it's my favorite time of year. The internet is full of amazing recipes. Don't get me wrong, I still love physical cookbooks and I have handwritten recipe cards in my family that I will NEVER part with - but when it comes to finding something new to cook, the internet is where...

Hello Reader! As I sit here writing this week's newsletter I am watching a coyote walk down the middle of the street. Doesn't that make you shudder? This is what recipe testing looks like in our home, lol! I am a bit behind in posting new recipes on the blog simply because I am cooking non-stop for our Passover Seder tonight. I still need to finish a few dishes and set the table today. We are hosting 13 people. My favorite time of year Here is what we are serving for dinner tonight. As...

Hi Reader! I hope you had a wonderful week! Spring is upon us and I am loving the blooming trees and ground cover in our yard! Did you watch the solar eclipse? We were at pickleball during the peak hours and ran outside to see it for a few minutes. It was really fun. Hubby being hubby lol. I am neck deep into re-working and re-photographing a lot of old recipes on the site while at the same time testing and developing new recipes that I cannot wait to share with you! Also, to help make things...

Hello Reader! Happy solar eclipse day! Are you watching it? Will you be able to see it? Here in Chicago we should be experiencing a 94% eclipse which is still pretty cool! I will be coming off a pickleball court so I'm not sure how much I will see. I have been hard at work! Green drink for the win! This week was all about working at my computer. I am furiously and quickly updating a lot of old content in preparation for a few things. I finished the major piece that I needed for my site that I...

Hi Reader! Is it strange to say Happy Easter and April Fools all in the same sentence? I think so! I hope you had a wonderful Easter with your family and friends. Since chocolate is my love language I enjoy seeing all of the chocolate eggs and candy this time of year. Besides chocolate, tulips are another love language! I'm lucky my hubby loves them too. Our family celebrates Passover which is coming late in April this year due to a leap month instead of a leap day. Typically Easter and...

Hello Everyone! Welcome to spring! Well, sort of. Here in Chicago, we have snow. Today, Saturday (I'm writing this a few days early), it's my birthday. I have a running joke in my family. I tell everyone that it snows on my birthday and truly 90% of the time I am right. While it's sunny today there is snow on the ground from yesterday. I will also predict that it will be the last snow of the season. I didn't send an email last week. I apologize for that. The days leading up to my normal...

Hello! What a fun week we had in our household! We spent the week in beautiful Colorado with the family. Three out of four kids skied and the rest of us relaxed and enjoyed the mountains. We were fortunate in that we got over two feet of snow on the first day of skiing. The kids were over the moon about the fresh powder. Colorado is so different from being in Chicago. When it's cold in Chicago it's COLD. When it's cold in Colorado it still feels warm due to the elevation and the amount of sun...
